cockercas Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Ages ago on my chinise cpi 125cc i was riding along and the rev counter went mental then stopped working. So were do i look at to find the fault? Were will it take the rpm reading?Thankyou. Quote
Tango Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Is it a mechanical drive or electronic?.......if it's mechanical it's probably the cable broken......if it's electronic, well.....could be wiring, tacho mechanism, signal from CDI box........ Quote
cockercas Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Theres only two cables throttle and clutch. I have a spare cdi i will check that. I had changed the cdi before it stopped. But the rev counter still worked after that for a few miles. Quote
Tango Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I'd be checking the connections and wiring to the CDI......sounds like you may have a bad connection around there...... Quote
cockercas Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Changed cdi, still not working. I think its a bad connection to. Would it take a rpm reading ftom the front sprocket? Quote
