keith565 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 hmm, sons gs125 been standing for a couple of months, well covered but outside. went to start it up and it would turn but not fire. did the usual, charged battery, put new petrol in, good spark from plug, deffo petrol getting through as plug wet.anyway, bought a new plug and hey presto, fired up first turn.ran it for about 10 mins no problems.took it fora run but only got to the bottom of the street and it died, i don't mean stalled i mean dead, no electrics, no neutral light or horn, nothing.pushed it back into the yard and took my gear off, pushed starter and up it fired again.so chanced it and took it for a 20 mile run down the A19, was whizzing down all ok.got to a mates and parked up for a few hours, then started off home again, got a mile down the road and it did it again this time lights came back on and as i let clutch back out it fired up and off i went. did that twice in a matter of 5 mins then fine for the rest of the journey home.sorry it's long winded.any ideas? Tango Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Check the connections around the ignition switch.....and give the switch and connections a good squirt with wd40..... Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 they just have the one main fuse on them as well i think check it is tight in its holder and the wires are in good condition where the fuse holder is crimped onto the wires Quote
keith565 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 seems to be running ok at the mo. think it might have been a bit dampness. have given it another good spray of wd40.got to let it stand until next weekend so will see how it goes then. Quote
hardleydavidson Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I had a similar issue, turned out to be the kickstand cut off switch even though the bike had a cover it didn't cover the switch and rain got in. Quote
