honda cg125 es-4 immobiliser

hi if got a honda cg125 es-4 and im thinking about putting an alarm and immobiliser on it so my question is do you think i should would it be worth more with one or am i been daft


help me please :)

I think it may be a bit overkill for a CG125, even a newer one like yours. If you were selling, it might make it more attractive to buyers but I think it's unlikely you'd get much more for it. I'd be inclined to go for a disc lock or a chain, security wise.


May make some difference to your insurance though.

I think that BonnieBird is right.....and alarm/immobiliser may be a good idea....but it won't add any value to the bike. A very big chain and something to chain it to are probably the best deterrents......disk locks aren't a lot of good on 125's as they are fairly easy to lift into a van IMHO....... :wink:

The only alarm/immobilisers that will add any value are the thatcham approved ones that will set you back £££'s for a decent one that any insurance company will recognise. And to be honest any professional thief will have the alarm off the bike before it makes a noise. Best deterrent is as said above a big chunky chain and padlock and a disk lock, the idea being to make it as difficult as possible to steal.
