Tonto68 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Hi, I know the lighter nights are coming in but I want to start taking bike to work and im not gonna be home til 7pm.But.....my headlight is like a candle on my wee 125. Ive heard this is a problem with many small bikes but what I want to know is there a different kind of bulb that can be fitted to make it brighter?Cheers Quote
Ricky Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I have Osram night breakers in my 125 They've made a significant amount of difference Quote
Guest Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 yes they are good.. But also an MOT failure, i believe... Quote

nikolees Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I have Osram night breakers in my 125 They've made a significant amount of difference I think the "Night Racers" are supposed to have better performance than the "Night Breakers" which just give more white light.I also think they are in a similar price. Ooops, I'm an idiot, I thought that sounded familiar, I have Night Racer plus in my 125 They come in a cool package of a mini motorcycle helmet as well Quote
Tonto68 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Do the night racers fit all bikes? My lexmoto, according to the official site, seems to state that my bulb is a HS1 type but when Iv looked at the Osram site they don't have this type. Quote

Inithra Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I was just about to make a topic asking for advice on bulbs, guess I don't need to now!Seems like the Osram bulbs are the way to go for headlights, what about the tail light? Mine keeps blowing, so I was going to get an LED one instead - is there any reason not to? Quote

OK, i did say "i believe".. which of course, like anything in life.. there is a possibility of being proven wrong..and thankyou for doing that.. Thankyou for the enlightenment.. Quote

You might want to check the mountings on your rear light, it well my be that the Rear light mounting has excessive vibration coming from it causing the filament to break. Quote

Yeah I hope that is the cause. Low beam went last night on the front - have had the bike 6 months now, no idea when/if the front bulb got replaced before that. Considering the rear light goes all the time, and it's always just the tail light and the brake light keeps working, is it possible the low beam going now could indicate a wiring issue?Vibration is a lot easier! LED bulb shouldn't blow out from that, so it is a simple solution. My road home is a VERY bumpy country lane. Quote

Make sure the battery connections are tight and the battery is in good condition. A bad connection or a duff battery with upset the voltage regulator and cause all sorts of problems. Quote
Lumor_uk Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 hit and miss with the LED rear light. You don't want too few leds or you won't be seen. too many and it won't fit. if you go the CREE bulb route it will look like your back break is always on. also if it's dual filament, well I've not seen any dual filament led bulbs.or just replace the whole cluster.
