2012 honda cbf cut out problem

My cbf keeps cutting out i can start it up and it runs fine on tick over but when i ride a little bit and come to a stop it cuts out then struggles to fire back upbut when it does it trys to cut out again unless i give it some revs then its fine again iv changed the spark plug the air filter what else could it be

could be a vacuum being created in the fuel tank, try opening the cap when it next cuts out and see if you can hear a whoosh noise. if it is that its an easy fix just needs the breather cleaned its normally part of the petrol cap itself.

The other thing it could be and id say is more likely is that your battery is low/f***ed, wack it on charge over night and see if that improves anything, if it does carry on check the battery with a volt meter it should be around 13v when the bike is turned off i cant remember the rest of the voltages when running etc but i'm sure someone who does know will be along although thinking about it it could be 12.6v..

being a 2012 bike is it still under warranty if it is give dealer a call if you have checked the basics

Some one said to me it could be something to do with the fuel injection system

if so it should still be under warranty so take it back to the dealer

fuel pump , buy brand new after checking for blocked drainage and breather hoses should be checked during service.

fuel pumps were recalled on 2010-11 models but my 2012 failed too. it cut out once last year then refused to start this year. tapping the pump with a screw driver unstuck the relay. they replaced under warranty due to end this month. so get it in ASAP unless it was new jan,feb in which case you might have a battle on your hands.

I bought it new from the dealer and tonight its cut out about 4 times in a row and it felt really sluggish with no power and to top it of there seems alot of play on the clutch lever before it engages gear and revs like mad as if its in netural when its in gear

that's great but have you done anything about it, called Honda yet? even if out of warranty they might help. state it's on plenty of forums about the recall on the older fuel pumps.

Well had the bike to the dealers today and turns out there more problems than i thought

Make sure you get a loan bike whilst they carry out repairs and if it takes a while ask for compensation as you're paying for a bike you don't have

I've never been given a loan bike when asked, Simone on here told me it wasn't actually part of the warranty but them being nice if you've had a lot of trouble with it.

warranty on a bike doesnt include a hire bike but it it was a major problem that was going to take a long time to sort its up to the dealer if he offers you one or not out of the goodness of his heart and we all know about dealers hearts

That's what I meant, at the end of the day it's not the op's fault so why should they have to arrange alternative transport. The dealer is more than likely to agree unless they want a bad reputation..
