Guest Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hi, i have recently bought an aprillia tuareg 125 (127 rotax engine) it was fine first few days on it then it started bogging at full revs. I tried cleaning the carb still no luck. Any help? Quote
cockercas Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Might be teaching you to suck eggs but how are you using the throttle? If your pulling it right round it will bog down. You need to ease the power in. Quote
Guest Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 No its not that, it was fine it still revs ok its at a certain rpm it starts lagging and bogging but anything below its fine. I really don't like 2 strokes haha Quote
Chrissb6 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 If its not fuel or air problems "check the spark plugs for colour that will soon tell you the state of the engine" It might just be that you not use to riding a 2 stroke. 2 strokes are re known for having a power band, once the revs drop out of the power band the engine will very quickly bog down, to get the maximum power out of a 2 stroke you've got to keep them spinning in and around the power band. Guest Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Ive just put a new plug in, still the same, its fine when you rev it, its when its hitting the power band it bogs i think, its leaking black from the exhaust manifold so i need a new gasket, could this be why? Quote

Guest Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 It is leaking pretty bad, quite messy really. If its not the gasket any other ideas? Quote
