G-TT600 Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Apologies if I'm repeating over asked questions.I have passed my MOD 1 before, but in all my excitement I accidentally let my theory expire, invalidating my MOD 1 certificate.. I don't particularly want to fork out for more training which I feel I don't need so figured I'd have a go on my own bike..My question is this: As my bike is a sports bike, I'm struggling for the right hand lock to perform the U-turn, My father has a Triumph Tiger 800 (complies to MOD 1 requirement that I know of) what is the crack with insurance? as the test is off the road am I alright to get a lift pillion and then attempt the test on his bike?Thankyou in advance for any replies Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Yes you can get a pillion lift to the test site, im pretty sure you will have to show insurance to complete test on your own bike (or ur fathers) as any damage to the course must be taken care of Quote
G-TT600 Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 Does anyone know if there is anything along the lines of one day insurance for circumstances just like this? Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Im sure there would be some kind but you may find that its a bit hefty even though its an offroad course, find out prices vs hiring a bike from an instructor with insurance already and you will be able to ride that there with an escort Quote
maccy Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 all you need is to be insured on the bike you take your test on. As all insurance policys have there own terms, really the only people you can ask is them. I would just call who ever you are insured with at the moment and see what they say. Quote
