Guest Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (Perhaps make this a sticky)Just revising for my bike theory test now. Seems to be going OK - bought myself a good LDC/DSA CD ROM. After failing my last bike theory by just 3 questions, and knowingly having been 'tricked' (we would say that wouldn't we), I am going over these questions with a fine comb and taking note of them questions that could go wither way. Here is one I have just found, and would like to hear if you have any similar that you thought where there to 'trick' you. VEHICLE HANDLINGMARK 3 ANSWERSQ: THE MAIN CAUSE OF MOTORCYCLE SKIDDING AREA HEAVY AND SHARP BREAKINGB EXCESSIVE ACCELERATIONC LEANING TO FAR WHEN CORNERINGD RIDING IN WET WEATHERE RIDING IN THE WINTERA beginners mind would say D and E would definitely be 2 of them. as well as A.The answers are A,B, C.I was quick to jump on A, D, E. Anyone else would have gone for A, D, E? Quote
Lucifah Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I thought ABC instantly, because they are driver's actions/errors, whereas DE are environmental conditions that don't usually come unexpectedly, hence you have to do ABC more carefully to make them a non-issue.With questions like that you always have to approach them like this:a) what is my input/responsibilityb) what is beyond my controlc) how can I change a) to iron out the problems in b)Admittedly, I haven't done theory over here (in Germany, long time ago, so take it with a grain of salt), but the thought process is always the same. Joeman Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Wet or winter weather doesn't cause you to skid.Risk of a skid may be increased by wet/winter conditions, but ultimately its always the rider's actions that causes the skid (ignoring mechanical failure) Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I said a,b,c as its rider inputs, wet weather and winter riding isnt a cause Quote
Bogof Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Anyone else would have gone for A, D, E? Not me Quote
