Glorian Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Thinking of replacing my exhaust as it's quite rusty and a bit damaged where i came off.Now i found one on ebay i quite like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390625363186? ... EBIDX%3AITWhich is the silencer can not the whole exhaust which is what i need. Now question is. How do i cut the old one off (tools etc) and how do i secure the new one on? Ideally without welding as i dont have access to that sort of tooling. Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 The ehaust in the advert is desinged to slide over the downpipe and is 'connected' by a clamp (similar to a 'hose-clip').Unless the pipe is of the correct diameter on your bike, this will not be an easy job - also, is the mounting bracket in the correct place? If you are OK with the above, simply measure up the silencer against what you have fitted, mark where the downpipe needs to be cut and use a hacksaw (ensuring you cut at 90 degrees to the pipe).
