What are the absolute bare minimum requirements that you need for track days?

A bike

A licence road or acu

Full leathers or two piece 3 quarter zip together

Helmet acu approved which most are

Boots gloves etc

Could I get one on provisional as someone said they are different licenses

my helmet isnt acu, check with them first.

if your on a provisonal you would need to do a track licence, around a ton but dont quote me on that.

A bike that your not going to heartbroken by if it gets trashed, so crashes at the last one l went to it's getting a joke. Session stopped 3 times due to crashes on the sighting lap :roll:

ACU is Auto-Cycle Union, the central organiser for all things bike racing in this country

If you want to race you need to do a licence test with them, organised through tracks and track day companies. £140 ish if you start with a licence, I think it's in the £200 region if you haven't got a bike licence for the extra assessments needed.


If you don't have a road licence (and check, some companies specify unrestricted licence) then you need an ACU licence to show you're safe on track.


Some places will let you hire bikes but they're usually daft silly money.
