bike cut out

going home and coming up to an empty roundabout on a hill doing 30ish, the bike (jianshe js125a) died totally electrics engine the lot. pulled the clutch dropped to 2nd let it out and it started for a second then died again.

pulled over switched to reserve tank as it was just at the red on the dial, switch on and everythings fine, went to fill it up and there is fuel in the tank.

so when it runs out of fuel, does this bike just die (electrics an all) or judder before running out of fuel, or have l got the start of an elec problem. av just bought a bike again to comute to work, so am worried about that. av had no problems from the bike before and its 3 months old.

my last bike was a suzi 125 ts fullfloater (yeh 1982) am an old bugger now, so no to keen to push a bike for miles haha.

Running out of gas shouldn't cause the electrics to go off as well.....it should just splutter a bit and then cut out...but electrics stay on..... :? As the bike is only 3 months old I'd be taking it back to the dealer and get it checked out under warranty......as it does sound like an electrical issue.....

Yeah, sounds electric to me. I'd say reg/rec would be the first thing to check but as Bob said, at that age get the dealer to check it :)

Before you do that just check your battery connections. Might just be a simple case of a bad one.
