Guest Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I'm trying to install a pair of Oxford Hot Grips but I can't seem to get the bar bell at the end of the grip to come off. It spins with a spanner or just hand spinning but doesn't come out. There seems to be a bit of give if I pull and push it but I'm not sure how to get the thing off. Problem is the same for both sides, although the clutch side seems to be able to pull out more.Any help appreciated, thanks. Quote
Tango Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Welcome to TMBF mate.......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the rest of the gang when you can......they're much more likely to offer help and advice if you do.... The bar end weights are normally held in place by an expanding collar that grips the inside of the handlebar tube as the end screw is tightened. If you've slackened the end screw so that the weights are loose, you could try gently tapping the end of the screw to see if that will loosen the expanding collar......otherwise, if you're putting the same bar end weights back on, remove the screw and weights completely, although there is a risk that the nut of the expanding collar will drop off inside the bar......depends on the actuall arrangement of the collar..... Guest Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Thanks for the reply Tango, I'll pop over to Newbies forum now.I'll have a look into what you said and see if hitting the end helps at all and update. Has anyone else had any direct experience with grips on a Honda CBF 125? Quote
