RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hiya all,As stated above, got a question about sprockets. Changing them out on my old 125, and the front sprocket seems to be out of stock at present - not going to hold my breath about it coming back in stock, looking like support for my model may have been dropped by the importer. So I've been trying to find an alternative. This is the one that I'm meant to get:http://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/partno_FSPK42815F.php?i=DFE125LInner diameter 20mm6 splinesPitch 428This is the one I'm looking at as an alternative:http://www.chinesemotorcyclepartsonline.co.uk/partno_FSPK42815BL.phpInner diameter 20mm6 splinesPitch 428Is there anything more to it, or should they be interchangeable? All the listed measurements match up and they look pretty damn similar so I'm hoping so. Would've just gone for it but noticed that the Lexmoto Lowride is missing from the huge list of compatible models on the second link, so wanted to check. Could be that I'm missing something obvious, could be that they just missed it off because they don't care about the poor old Lowride any more Any answers appreciated, hoping to order all the parts tomorrow to get the bike back on the road asap! Doing a big clean up at the weekend then aiming to fit the new parts monday/tuesday/wednesday evening.Cheers! Quote

Stu Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 the only thing really is the offset if any ollie everything else seems to be the same Quote
RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Cheers for the reply Stu. Care to translate "offset" into retardese for me? Quote
Stu Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 one on the right is offset compared to the one on the left http://www.cyclexchange.net/index%20pics/offset%203.JPG Quote
RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Thanks again! For only a fiver, I guess I'll risk it. Quote
Stu Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 most of the time the offset is on one side so turning it around can make an offset one fit a none offset bike and spacers can easily be made for vice versa Quote
RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 That's what I was kinda thinking - nothing a trip to Mackays hardware store can't solve. One way or another I'm getting that bugger back on the road! Quote
Stu Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I would sooner be spending the dosh on the BM you could always get the 125 on the road and sell it as a runner and put the cash towards the BM Quote
RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Well, I've now ordered the Lexmoto parts and they come to a grand sum of £48.97... and the current bill for the BMW is roughly 8 times that! And that's just parts, let along the bloody time it'll take me If I fix this thing up I can ride it while I fix the BMW as and when I can afford to, and then maybe I'll flog the 125 at the end of it so I can use the cash to start paying off my debts. Or I might hang onto it and use the shit bike for commuting and the BMW for getting my jollies Quote
Stu Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 post the BM to me and I will do the work for ya will work out cheaper then buying the tools you could always talk to megawatt and see if he can sell you some tools Quote
RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Oh yeah - when I got the sprocket cover off it was FULL of crap, including these bits!!The bolt certainly looks like one from this bike... Bugger knows where they came from though, I stripped down a whole side of the bike to try and work it out and I still have no idea Quote
RantMachine Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 post the BM to me and I will do the work for ya will work out cheaper then buying the tools you could always talk to megawatt and see if he can sell you some tools Got tools up to the eyeballs these days! All I need now is a huge pile of replacement parts and a lot of time to fit them in. I'm a cautious but fast learner; first time I do anything takes me bloody hours unless someone walks me through it, but every time after that is piss easy. First time I opened up my clutch, rebuild it, and closed it up again, it took me about 4 hours - every time after that was 30 minutes or so Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 sell the lexmoto and get a cheapo zzr600 that you like they are out there from 500-600 quid and up Quote
