Stu Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 its not as bad as I thought it was although I have never seen one like that it could be the sprocket out of alignment slightly as a few mm would make that much difference Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 check the rear sprocket by making some sort of upright from floor touching side of sprocket and see if during the rotation of rear wheel it moves the marker at all Quote
Phooey Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 Thanks guys ... I tried that eastangianbiker and it did run out but only by about 1mm. Maybe that is enough? Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 i would think it would need to be more than that to be honest as i said earlier i would adjust the tight spot bit of the chain to be the correct free play(slack) and ride it for 5 -10 miles and then see how it looks then you dont need to ride fast or hard just get it moving and settled in and see how it looks then Quote
Phooey Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Just took it for a 15 mile ride. Feels good. Kept it really smooth a steady, no silly speeds or accelleration. The bike felt possitive on the take up, gear changes were nice ... no cluncky changes like I had before ... it felt good.Checked the chain on return and nothing seems different. Will keep an eye on it and see what happens. Thanks to all for your help. Quote
