Guest Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I've had to store my diversion 900 outside for the winter, under a cover (which burst in the wind) Battery has been inside on a trickle charger. Tried to start the bike today and...nothing. No clicks or anything. Idiot lights come on but that's it. Have I knackered my ride? Quote
Tango Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Was the battery on a trickle charger or a battery conditioner?.........if it was on a trickle charger the chances are it's gone dry or you've lost a cell or 2. Check the voltage of the battery off load and on load........if the voltage collapses under load you know the battery is shagged...... Quote
Guest Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 When I bought the bike, it had been stored for a while. I bought a new battery as the one with it was just about pooped. The new battery has been connected to a Genius G3500 charger on and off for the last 5 months (its a MF battery too) Don't know if this helps? Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 as tango said you need a volt meter across the battery to check voltage because if its not bringing any lights up at all when you connect it either you havent connected it correctly or its flat or the main fuse has blown,or if the bike has been left uncovered all winter the ign could of filled up with water and damaged the area that makes contact to turn bike on but my bet is duff battery Quote
