Bike Problems

Hi Guys,

My bike has been sat over winter; this weekend I tried to get it started using a jump starter, it worked first time so I left it running for around 40-50 minuets. I then turned it off whilst I put the casing back on, then tried to turn her on but she wont start. I've tried using the jump starter again but I'm getting nothing, the only thing that is working is my emergency lights.

Anyone got any ideas as to what may be wrong, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hmm, is the battery buggered? When you say it won't start does the engine turn over? or when you press the ignition is there just nothing?

Waiting for this to get moved to "Pitstop" :D

Yes it is.

New battery needed my friend.

You noticed my double entendre, excellent!

When I turn the key nothing happens, its like it has no power, even though it was running perfectly before I tried it again. My bike has just turned one this April, so I'm debating on giving the manufacture a ring to see if I'm still covered under a warranty.

Typical the weather picks up, and my bike wont work.

Welcome to TMBF mate.......pop over to the newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can...... 8-)

Yeah, moved to Pitstop......

Agreed.....battery is probably as flat as a fart.......chances are it won't recover, so it'll need to be replaced......dealer probably won't want to know......

Well the good news is, the bike ran, so yeah i reckon battery is fooked. Worth asking dealer but they'll probably say do one if it's even a day after warranty. New batteries don't cost an arm and a leg and local garage may have one that fits. If not check online =)

My mate has the same issue. He got an engine crack so we just replaced the engine, but it had been standing for 3 months, completely flat and was an old battery anyway... we jump started it, it ran perfect, stopped the engine after 40mins and nothing...

Just get yourself on the bay and get a cheap one. It's a 125 anyway so I wouldn't go spending lots of money on a great battery, it's likely that you won't have it long enough to justify the expense over a cheaper one.

There you go:
