Phooey Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 I have taken deliver of a pair of early Nissin calipers and now looking at a rebuild.First question, no doubt of many, I have removed a screw which I assumed allowed the pads pin to be removed but it turns out to be a grub screw type thing. How do I remove the pin releasing the pads and pads retaing clip? Thanks. Quote
Phooey Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 Here are a few pics ... I think that they are self explanatory. The caliper as is Removing what I assumed would be the pad pin OK ... it's a grub screw! Hmmm ... now how does that pin and retaining spring thing come out then? Quote
Stu Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 where you have taken the grub screw from there is a allen key in there Quote
Phooey Posted April 14, 2015 Author Posted April 14, 2015 No mate, no allen nut. Looks like I could drift out the pin but don't want to go bashing if it shouldn't be bashed.Nice if you do have a set of seals How much? Will be up to the cafe Sunday if you are? Quote
Stu Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 where the grub screw goes in the allen key should be inside there as the pin screws in to the body I rebuilt a set of these off a 96? model blade this is what the pin looks like http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSXR-O ... 4ae776add6I will have to pop to my lock up and see if I have the seals first if I can get there before sunday I will bring them with me Quote
