yaaan Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Hi,Long time member who hasn't been online for a while but after a little help. My wife has a Bandit 650 and the exhaust has rusted through just behind the collector. I've removed the end can but the end of the pipe from this to the collector is stuck inside and I haven't had any luck removing this. If I can get this out I can stick a replacement can on without a problem but getting this internal section out is proving to be a bit of a bugger! Anybody have any suggestions that don't involve removing the header as I understand that this can be filled with pitfalls as well!CheersIan Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Cut it off, then cut inside the inside bit so you can crush and twist it out. Quote
GaryJM Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 So the link pipe is stuck by rust I assume?I think taking off the down pipes to get better access would be your best bet.You have removed the bolt that's down by the centre stand thou? You get access to it from the opposite side iirc. Quote
Guest Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I have the same bike. K6. Same thing happened. I took it to my local shop and just got it welded. I've since changed the whole system but the original is hanging up in the garage it's effectively one piece now it's welded but I got another two years out of it before I changed it and it's still fine to go back on if I get the urge.
