Drivers and the Police

WTF is wrong with people now days. As soon as a police car or speed camera is even in the same county as them they slam the brakes on.

I had one today. A crowded A14 and I'm in the outside lane doing 70 ish with the rest of the line. overtaking some slower cars. Only to notice a police car approaching with its blues and twos on. My self and all the other guys slowed down and moved into the inner lane to allow the plod to pass. Only for the Knob in front of me too suddenly panic as the police car passed him and he stood on the brakes and stopped dead.

I was being overtaken the other day on the M5. I'm in the inside lane doing an indicated 76 MPH on cruise control. I notice a Volvo is overtaking me in the middle lane and is just drawing level with me when he spots the police car coming down the slip road to pull in behind me. We are doing around 70 MPH so it won't be an issue for the plod. BUT NO. The Volvo twat suddenly decides he is going way to fast and then tries to indicate and move into my lane where I am driving. So I end up having to brake to let him in and then I have to move into the middle lane to get back up to my 76 MPH cruising speed. The police car sits behind us for a bit then turns off a while later.

Thats because the only places you ever see police now are on the motorway and sat behind speed guns, it's all they do. I've seen maybe 1 real copper (not pcsos) walking a beat...hell they wouldn't even come to my house after I got burgled.

I think people are so afraid of a fine now (seems as they are 10 times more likely to get one since the buget cuts) that they act like idiots without thinking.

I've only ever interacted with 4 coppers, all for speeding, never else have I spoken to one, not even after all my possessions where stolen, easy targets make statistics.

HA ! interesting point kris ! I spoke to a copper from the traffic he works out of stanway patrol centre that serves much of the a12 down to the m11 .he said they had 25 officers one time now it's three!

I got talking to him after I vented my frustration on a country road going to west mersea where we were in a que waiting for a recovery team to remove a ditched vehicle ( they were quite inept at their job ) I said to the occifer can't you mange the traffic as we all have to be places and there was only him and he was frustrated himself of which I then empathised with him ! Bless !
