Guest Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) Hi, does anybody have any clue what could be causing these??1) front brake feels like it is not consistent (can feel it braking then cant).2) sometimes shifting 4th to 5th it seems to slip into neutral.3) quite often over 50 mph the bike feels like I have just came off the throttle completely for about half a second.I don't have a good knowledge on the mechanical stuff with my bike.Any help would be greatly appreciated Edited September 19, 2015 by Anonymous Quote
Stu Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 1 is the brake pulsing? Feels like on off on off? Sounds like a badly warped disc 2 sounds like your hitting a false neutral try changing more positively don't be scared to apply a lot of pressure on to the gear lever 3 are you hitting the Rev limiter? Do it stop accelerating and won't go anymore? Quote
Guest Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 the brake is kind of pulsing, but not severely. I have checked the disc and it seems fine, I cant see any warping, the disc is a little rusty due to the previous owners lack of care, but its not rusted where the pads would touch it.I am not reaching the rev limiter, It often happens around 6-8k revs and I think it redlines at 11 or 12 ( I can't remember :/ )Thanks for the fast response. Stu Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Brake disc is warped You can't tell by looking If you can get the front wheel off the floor and spin it then it will stop when it reaches the warped part You may have a bit of a flat spot in the Rev range either that or something is breaking down when running! Is it only evident in a certain gear and certain speed? Quote
Guest Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 It usually happens after saying at around 50-60 at a constant speed for about a minute.Would I need to get a replacement front disc? or could it be straightened? Quote
