bmwdave Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Big Ouch last night. Was pushing a friend in her wheelchair up a steeper than average ramp into a club and seriously pulled my calf muscle, but had to push on as couldn't stop halfway up or she'd have rolled back into me out of control. Dog was not impressed with once round the block this morning just for essentials (yes I picked up), hoping stepson can come round tonight and walk him. Was hoping to be back on bike next week as weather improving, and fortunately have 2 days off now but don't think I'd feel confident taking bikes weight on right leg if I get anything extra on it. Grumpy Old Git Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I assume you will be pursuing a claim against the Club or, at the very least, request that they re-design the ramp iaw the current legislation for disabled access requirements. Quote

Cant really, members club I've been going to since the late 80's, pushed her up the ramp dozens of times before. Quote
bmwdave Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 Mind you, she has been piling the pounds on recently. Quote
Arwen Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 There are rules and guidelines for disabled access ramps, even if you do not complain/claim, it might be worth pointing it out to them if it is too steep for too long - http://www.wheelchair-ramps.co.uk/speci ... air-ramps/Think of people who self propel their wheelchairs. Could they make it up it without difficulty? Keep your leg elevated as much as possible, and do some gentle stretches and you'll be back to normal in no time I reckon. Either that or the dog will hound you so much that you forget about the pain Quote
oldie59 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Pulled my calf muscle a few weeks ago whilst putting the bike on it's centre stand (it's bl**dy heavy), so know how you are feeling. Quote
