A regretable change from the Sena 20s has prompted me to buy a Scala G9x... Which is inferior in almost every way apart from it being waterproof! (which is the reason to change).

Anyway...

Does anyone know if you can play music through your phone WHILST being on intercom at the same time?? The best I can get at the moment is pressing the A button to toggle between music OR intercom.

With the Sena you were able to play music and the mic would detect your voice and reduce the volume... And then music volume would increase when no noise was detected.

Does the scala have that feature anyone???

I have the lower spec one although its got near enough the same features! its the Q3

I can have my phone, sat nave and intercom on all at the same time and can set the priority of each

Sat nav take priority and will cut everything off to give you directions

then its intercom

and music has no priority it just plays in the background

I can have music playing through the FM receiver, bluetooth to my phone or bluetooth to my GPS and if I make a intercom call then it cuts the music off then when its finished it brings the music back

it sounds to me like you haven't got it set up right or maybe you aren't waiting long enough!

it takes about 30 seconds of no talking to get the intercom to go off and the music to come back unless you press the button to stop/start intercom

Well...

I haven't got mine to work. And according to Scala... If you have on a G9x, it's a bit of a glitch!

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Cardo Systems Support Center.

On the scala rider G9x, the intercom takes a higher priority than Bluetooth music playback. When the intercom is activated, the music will be interrupted. Once the intercom is closed, music will return from there.

The intercom can be opened using the “Call Intercom” voice command – or manually with the intercom channel button.

To activate the intercom using a voice command, you will need to activate VOX by saying something loudly into your microphone. I recommend to make a sound such as “WEW!”, varying the pitch and tone. Then, listen for the beep and say “Call Intercom” into your microphone.

The G9x will repeat the command and activate the intercom between your headsets. After both users have stopped speaking for 30 seconds, the intercom will close automatically and the music will return.

To activate the intercom using the channel button, you would need to perform a quick press and release of the ‘A’ button on your G9x (assuming that the devices are paired on channel ‘A’ as they would be out of the box when purchased as a PowerSet).

The intercom will open and interrupt the music. One user would have to tap the ‘A’ button again to close the intercom, which would allow the music to return from there.

The scala rider G9x does not have parallel audio streaming capability, which would allow you to to listen to music simultaneously while communicating in the intercom. This feature is only currently available on our scala rider SMARTPACK and scala rider PACKTALK models.

Please feel free to contact us if we can assist you with any other questions.

Best regards,

Justin Briggs
