MedicalBiker Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Hey, Finished a nightshift this morning to go to ride home and discover the bike looks a bit odd. Went to security who told me they'd chased a guy away overnight from the parked bikes but not managed to catch him. My bike is currently stuck at work until tomorrow morning where I can get it picked up and taken to a garage as I'm working again tonight, but what is this part and does anybody know roughly how much it'll be to get it fixed? It's the piping in the top right of the engine that comes down to make the exhaust...or is that the entire exhaust?http://www.motorcyclesupermarket.com/images/bikes/images/10921.1354273459.CBF125REDBLACK_003.jpg Quote
tPIC Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 It's your exhaust header, and on a singe cylinder there's obviously just the one. What a scrote to steal a part. These people think only of themselves. Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) Have a look at thishttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-CBF125-CBF-125-2011-EXHAUST-SILENCER-PIPE-FRONT-DOWNPIPE-HEADER-/232018738660?hash=item360564fde4:g:ESQAAOSwayZXjeip" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;or this one a bit closer to youhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2012-Honda-CBF-125-Exhaust-Full-System-/191917443782?hash=item2caf2bcac6:g:x94AAOSwwo1Xf1H~" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Edited July 24, 2016 by ThePhatomfart Quote
MedicalBiker Posted July 24, 2016 Author Posted July 24, 2016 Thanks! Yeah, tiredness meant I wasn't too fussed this morning but now I'm so angry. Looking like I'll have to get a whole exhaust replacement...might just throw it in to the stealership for a full service/look over, I have no idea what else this toad could've fiddled with.[Edit] Oh that's a lot cheaper than the ones I've seen (admittedly would probably have to ACF it as looks a bit rusty), I've only just recently started doing things to the bike myself and I've got as far as replacing a snapped indicator and doing the basic chain maintenance; not sure I'd be comfortable doing an exhaust myself Quote
GaryJM Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 The exhaust is easy. Just a couple of bolts/nuts to do up.Will depend on your bike of course but generally speaking do it up loosely at first to make sure it's sitting correctly then once in place tighten it up.With yours I would imagine it will be a case of the two header bolts and one further back where it's held to the rear of the bike. Yeah that does seem to be all that it is, the 2 at the front and then the one holding it under the passenger peg I believe. Alright I'll give it a whack then once I get the bike back home. I'd rather try £60 odd quid than spend £200+ at the garage Quote
