GrandadNurgle Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I appear to have a slow release of pressure on my tubeless front tyre. There's no puncture but a quick bubble rinse shown me that the air is escaping from the base of the valve (the rubber bit where it meets the wheel)Does this require me buying a new wheel/tyre? Or does it involve a new valve replacement? BadgerSent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk Quote
Tango Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Welcome to TMBF mate. ......pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you can. ...... I'd say it sounds like you just need a new valve, as long as the wheel isn't corroded around where the valve seats....... Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 Hi, at the most I think you might need a new valve, their not expensive , but before that ,try buying a valve key which you can get easily enough screw it onto the valve and try lifting it up slightly it might re-seal http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-WAY-TYRE-VALVE-REPAIR-TOOL-TIRE-WHEEL-REAMER-THREAD-RESTORER-MOTORCYCLE-CAR-/131891616852?hash=item1eb55a5c54:g:nOoAAOSwHnFVpatw" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-NEW-TR418-TUBELESS-RUBBER-CAR-TYRE-WHEEL-VALVE-DUST-CAPS-MADE-IN-EUROPE-/320993391149?hash=item4abcb2722d:m:mZyJ99kiVuztKZky-fuvCyQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Quote
GrandadNurgle Posted August 18, 2016 Author Posted August 18, 2016 It appears the valve core isn't the issue. I replaced it and still it let's air out. It's escaping at the crease where the valves rubber outside meets the the tyre. Any other suggestions? Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 it needs a new valve fitted to the rim of the wheel just take the wheel off run it into tyre place and get them to replace the valve it might nee the rim cleaning up round the valve hole if there is corrosion there when they go to refit new one Quote
