Hi all,

I recently bought myself a 1998 Suzuki GZ 125. Its a lovely bike, however due to its age I have committed myself to tidying it up both in appearance and mechanically.

I have given it an oil change and new filter, new air filter, new spark plug and new battery. I now would like to add a new exhaust, I have the exhaust but due to the GZ having a 1 piece exhaust system I will more than likely have to cut the downpipe to fit it. Has anyone done this? Is it relatively straightforward?

Also, the bike over revs massively when I turn the handlebars to the left, is this a dodgy routed throttle cable?

Cheers in advance for any replies

Welcome to TMBF mate.....pop over to the Newbies section and introduce yourself to the guys when you get chance..... 8-)

Deffo sounds like bad throttle cable routing......

May be worth getting a secondhand exhaust......just incase chopping that one doesn't work out.... 8-)

I'm gonna move this to Pitstop as it's more relevant there..... 8-)

Thanks very much for the advice!

I have rerouted the throttle cable but I'm still getting sporadic revving when I turn the handlebars, any other ideas that I could try? I've looked at the cable and it seems to be flowing freely enough.
