Lukazam Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Hey Guys!I feel like a complete dumbass here! But I'm new so please be niceII own a Suzuki VL 125 Intruder and I've had problems with the carburettor so I've removed it to clean in thinking I had a picture of how the layout of putting everything back goes..however I do not.I'm just wondering if any of you guys either own this bike and can send me an image of the pipes that are going in your carbs or step by step guide to putting it back in? I know where the air filter line goes and the main fuel line but I'm confused by the other. Thanks! And really appreciate all your help in advance! Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Here you gohttps://www.dropbox.com/s/3zgari9x5mh5y0a/Suzuki%20vl125.pdf?dl=1 Quote
Lukazam Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 I've been following that luckily, but it doesn't actually tell you what pipes go where unfortunately, just how to take apart the carb Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Try thishttp://www.bike-parts-suz.com/suzuki-recherche-bike-pieces_nn.php?compteur=3156&PartsListID=2862093 Quote
Lukazam Posted November 11, 2016 Author Posted November 11, 2016 I'm looking for more, what pipes go to these connectors, i know theres air and fuel, but theres one i just can't figure out which is in the image below, Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 When you re-install the carb the pipes will fall into place on the carb , the pipes are pre bent so should line up with their mates. See manualYou should have a fuel line from pump ,and a vent pipe Quote
Lukazam Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 Thank you loads for that! Would you have any clue where that darker black pipe goes that the picture cuts off? Would that be to the air filter? Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 I think your talking about the vacuum pipe from petrol pump to air inlet pipe Quote
Lukazam Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 This pipe here (see attached picture) Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 That should be your vac pipe from carb to Tank Quote
Lukazam Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 I already have 2 pipes running to the tap at the moment and I'm pretty sure they're right. I can't think what else this would attach to...must be something important. If it helps I blew through it today in hope I'd find a link and fuel came directly out the pipe that attaches to the petcock that is used for priming fuel through. I've attached a picture with what I mean. Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 have you got your pipes set up in this manner Quote
Lukazam Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Yes I have, the one on that labelled number 1 goes in the back of the petcock as its a vaccumm pump and the other pipe in that picture that doesn't connect to anything goes in the prime section of he petcock on the side so the petcock hasn't anymore inputs for that black pipe to go Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Pipes 1 and 2 go into each air intake pipe entering the cylinder, thats where the vacuum works for them Quote
Lukazam Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 And pipe 2 goes in to this (see attachment) and pipe one assumably goes in to the rear of the petcock as it requires vaccumm action for it to work? So that leaves the original hose I was confused about unless what I've said above is incorrect.Sorry to be a pain! Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Heres the fuel pump set it up like this, it it should probably have a "T" piece that splits the one vacuum into the 2 air intake pipes at the cylinder joint Quote
Lukazam Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 All connected up as indicated above, I've seen the t piece. So thus far I have back of the petcock into the air intake pipe and there's a tpiece on that, that leads to this (see image) Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 So , you have a fuel line from the tank to the pump, and a fuel line from the pump to the carb, and a vacuum line from the pump to the air intake pipe, so now you should have a breather line from the tank to the carb, is that so ? Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Is this the same petcock you got.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-VL125-K2-Intruder-2003-Fuel-Petrol-Vacuum-Tap-Pipes-/331837133605?hash=item4d4308d325:g:-9cAAOSw-YBXGKBZ&vxp=mtr Quote

The only thing I can think not is it would be a drain....but I can't imagine why.Oh and the last picture I attached was how it was in my bike before (just found a snap from another day) but it doesn't show where that pipe is going Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 as you can see here the air pipe runs up towards the front By the way what year is your bike Quote
Lukazam Posted November 14, 2016 Author Posted November 14, 2016 See I figured that but I've put it to the front and it doesn't look right there as I've fixed the headlight recently and never seen it around that area...So update today is that it's firing and starts for about 2 seconds then cuts outIt's a 2000 reg Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Dont know these bikes too well ,but isnt the frame at the front underneath the tank part of the air intake system. and does that pipe plug in somewhere there or into the side pod right hand side, if there's a prime position on your petcock switch it to that and see if the bike will run any longer Quote
