Buying a used mototcycle from abroard

Hi, Guys and girls - Jeff here and I'm new to the forum, so just thought I'd say hello.

Anyway I'm driving down to Spain next month and was wondering I anyone on here might know of any motorcycle auto jumbles that might be on down there during my stay from the 1st June till the 15th. Or on my way back up through France heading towards Dover. I was hoping to buy an old motorcycle that can either be complete or in bits. Either way I'm not bothered.

If there are things like that then they'll be in the bigger cities! I'm not aware of any though.

Why would you want to buy a bike in Spain........prices are higher and the GBP-Euro rate isn't in your favour?

I,m not really bothered about that, plus I,m not after a new bike. I have an interest in old bikes beit in bits or not, and if there,s any auto jumble over in Barcelona or Vallencia or anywhere else for that matter, I,ll pop over there as well. That,s why I was just asking the question if anyone know of any, that's all.

Loads of old Spanish bikes still in existence.....but as for old Japs, Brits etc there aren't any prior to the mid 80's. Franco blocked all imports.

Few years back. Well mid to late 90s .

Mates were driving down on vans and loading up with cheap Vespas.

Bringing them back and either selling as seen or sprucing up and applying for the paperwork and making an absolute killing.

This was during the last sort of scooter boom.

Total wrecks of old Spanish post office vespas (yellow things) were being bought for £200 and sold up here for well over a grand.

Still a shop in Halifax which specialises in scooter imports from mainly Spain. (Owned by me mates brother in law)

Arse end fell out a little due to paggios 're introduction of certain models. You no longer needed to buy an LML or import.
