raesewell Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 The ride down to Harlow on Wednesaday was a wet one. Mike and Cheryl were already there when we turned up, but it didn’t take long to shower, change and head for the bar.Thursday morning was light cloud with some sun poking it’s nose out from time to time. The journey to the tunnel took about an hour and a quarter and we had plenty of time for a coffee before boarding the train. On arrival in France it was more sun than cloud and the temperature was rising. We took the motorway to Boulogne and had a coffee and a nice apple tart with cream (yum). Then we took a non motorway wiggly route from Boulogne to Berck and then back on the motorway for the last few miles, we had both had enough of riding by then.On arrival in Abbeville we found a couple of parking spaces right outside the hotel. The weather was sunny and warm for the rest of the trip.In Abbeville we found a nice cosy and friendly restaurant where the food and service were excellent. Here is a picture of all of us before tucking into our dinner. After Abbeville we headed for Saint-Omer which is a convenient place to stop off for a night before heading for the tunnel. The journey to the tunnel was in sunshine and pleasant temperatures. All in all we all had a great time in excellent company. Quote
