rennie Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 After making his return to the FIM Supersport World Championship paddock in 2020 with WRP Wepol Racing, the team have announced that Danny Webb will continue to compete for them throughout the 2021 season while Petr Svoboda will also stick with the team he raced with last year in the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship. Webb initially competed in WorldSSP in 2013 when he took part in four races, securing a best result of 11th at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, before seven years away from WorldSSP. The former 125cc and Moto3™ star competed in the Isle of Man TT between 2014 and 2018 across various categories before returning to WorldSSP for 2020. He proved to be a consistent finisher across the season as he scored points in all but two of the 15 races, claiming a best result of eighth at the Teruel and French Rounds. While competing in 125cc and Moto3™, Webb claimed three top-six finishes with a result of fifth at Portimao. WRP Wepol Racing joined WorldSSP for their first season in 2020 with Webb being their sole full-time rider although the Brit was joined by Karel Hanika as the season drew to a close. After a strong debut season, the Czech team will be looking to build on their consistent finishes to claim their first podium finishes in the class. Really happy to be staying with the team in 2021! Looking forward to having a successful season and looking forward to having a young team mate!! @WorldSBK https://t.co/B0OEYGBJzL[1][2] — Danny Webb 99 (@DannyWebb99) January 10, 2021[3] Meanwhile, the team have also confirmed their presence in the WorldSSP300 Championship with Petr Svoboda continuing to compete for the team. Svoboda made four appearances in the 2020 season, securing a best result of 17th at the season-ending Estoril Round. The 18-year-old rider from Brno, Czech Republic, showed promise in his four races last year and will be looking to continue that as he aims to move up the grid.
