ZenOngaku Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 Hi guys Newbie here and I’ve just purchased a Ducati Monster which had ridiculous bar end indicators which were disconnected by the previous owner as they failed MOT. I purchased some bar end mirrors but am struggling to attach them. On previous bikes I’ve just screwed them in, but it looks like the wiring for the indicators went through the inside of the handlebars, so there is nothing for them to screw into. What can I do to attach my sexy new bar end mirrors?! Thanks in advance. Michael Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted July 11, 2021 Posted July 11, 2021 You need to check whether your bar-ends are internally threaded (a wax candle will allow you to check easily by screwing it in - If screwed out again carefully, you can find the pitch and depth of the thread). If smooth, then you need the bar-end mirrors that the shaft is 'split' and expands as you tighten up the (usually allen key / hex) bolt. The MZ had this type of bar-end mirror. NB, a heat gun will 'sort' any broken candle left inside your bars. Quote
