Twis Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Having fitted a Yoshimura slip on exhaust I am considering having the ECU flashed to help smooth out the power delivery. I’m not necessarily after extra HP. Does anybody have experience of doing this and if so do they consider it a worthwhile expense? Thanks. Quote
Stu Posted November 15, 2021 Posted November 15, 2021 Hi and welcome to the forum A lot of people opt for a power commander rather than an ECU flash as its plug and play and totally reversible you can also have different custom maps made for different applications too Although I have heard and ECU remap can be so much better as you can alter a lot of other stuff while you're at it The trick is finding someone who can do the ECU flash and knows what they are doing Quote
Twis Posted November 15, 2021 Author Posted November 15, 2021 Thanks Stu. I have a place that has come highly recommended and they are well known as specialists for this type of technology. I also get the impression that an ECU flash/remap can deal with more parameters than a power commander is able to. Apparently you can also return the bike to standard if you wanted to but nobody normally bothers! I think I’ll give it a go - when I can afford it… 1 Quote
Stu Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 There was a member who had an R1 flashed with fantastic results from what I am led to believe is that you can do so much more with the fuelling than a power commander Quote
