Hi All

Looking for some good waterproof textiles. Hopefully a jacket and trousers that will zip together.

Would like them to have Shoulder, Elbow and Knee CE approved armour (Or the slots to put them in), and have the ability to not fall apart if I end up sliding down the road on my backside!!

Not too bothered about them keeping me seriously warm, as I ain't too badly affected by the cold.

Don't want to spend any more than about £300 tops for the set, but ideally looking more around the £200 mark.

Oh, and they need to come in Blue.

Looked at Alpinestar gear, and a few others, but looking for recommendations more than anything.

Rucca textiles are pretty much the best available. Don't know if they do anything within your budget tho? Think they come with a 5yr guarentee as well! :)

Frank thomas aquafore jacket and trousers.

Armoured, jacket is VERY heavy duty, Id sooner crash in that than my dainese leather jacket, and very waterproof.

cost for both about 300 from J&S

Steve ask fazer pete which ones he bought cos apparantly there crap!

Think they may have been from J&S and about 300 quid!

I just use a textile jacket that has a removable liner for summer/winter use and it was only£80...its spot on.

Then I ride with waterproof over trouser over my leathers.

Akito Python II seems to do the job well enough - they do matching pants but don't buy Buffalo because the one's I have are garbage.

Weisse have a textile jacket that I recently read got rated very highly and was pretty cheap - it was a Ride best buy in a review a while back. I have Weisse trousers - they were pretty cheap (£80ish) and work great including being totally waterproof (in Manchester that says something).

I love the Rukka stuff mentioned about but you could easily blow almost double your budget on a jacket alone...

A textile jacket I looked at recently that was great is the Rev'it Cayenne - not priced one yet in the UK (I tried one on in a shop in the US... should have bought it!) but they are great quality.

They look a bit big for me. Steve is a tall lad compared to me so I doubt they would fit me!!

Like I said, its well armoured, and the fabric is like ....well.....denim, but made with nylon, if you can imagine that. Like I said, Id sooner crash in it than my Dainese. I like it that much.

The trousers are similar, but not quite so tough.

Both are very waterproof, all zips etc look good, and are in current everyday use, on 25 mile round trip to work, rain or shine.

I was gonna buy some new leather jeans, changed my mind now, just gonna wear these.

I bought the RST rift gear and am very happy with it (I don't fancy leather). Only thing is that the zips look a bit substandard, though they have worked perfectly so far. My only moan is that they are hot, hot, hot even with the linings taken out.

Didnt buy the back protector...should I?

Get a back protector!!

You wear a helmet so that in the event of an accident it should protect your brain to allow it to carry on telling the rest of your body what to do.

Whats the point if you broke your spine and your brain can't send signals to your arms and legs anymore to get them to move? Near worst case scenario, but it happens!!

I have this one. Works a treat!!

will this fit into my gear or will I need to buy a specialist protector for the rst gear I have?

Purely depends on how baggy your current gear is. Best thing you can do is get tooled up and go to a place that sells them. Mine had some slack so fitted perfectly under my jacket.
