CBT expiration after MOD 1

Just asking for a friend...

If someone had CBT + Theory + MOD 1 but hadn't yet passed MOD 2 and then the CBT expired - what happens?

Do they need to redo the CBT to be able to take the MOD 2 or does the MOD 1 trump the CBT?

I think if the Theory expires in this situation it's back to square one but am less sure about CBT expiration.

You must pass your full moped or motorcycle test within 2 years, or you have to either take CBT again or stop riding.
