meotomayn Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Found this Yamaha TZR50 2003(10000 miles) for 700 pounds(though they say they would think about sensible offers), I am in the uk and there are no other listings for this bike so i can't compare the value advertisement says: "Rolling chassis and an engine (in two boxes) along with other various parts. Additional parts include a second set of wheels, brand new rear tyre, and multiple engine parts." urrently i am looking for a bike to learn how to build, I can't say i want to flip it for a profit as I know I won't be able to but I would like to flip it for as little of a loss as possible(If I don't want to keep it), If you guys think this is good to check out, what things should i check for when I view. They didn't post great photos unfortuntely Quote
Yorky Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 I would say that if you are looking to learn how a bike works / is built, then you would be better off buying a rough around the edges runner and doing a refurb job. That way you can take it apart in your own time, taking photo's as you go, and you are sure that you have everything for a running bike. 2 Quote
Simon Davey Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 I agree with @Yorky get yourself one that's already running and working, that just needs TLC. Besides, I reckon that's a lot of money for a nun running 50cc. 1 Quote
Tinkicker Posted April 14, 2024 Posted April 14, 2024 Buying a non running bike and flipping it for a handsome profit are the preserve of a TV show involving a silly man in a van driving around the country with his mate looking at old bikes and old petrol cans. Since the advent of ebay and FB marketplace, it cannot happen anymore, unless you have an old lady next door wanting her shed clearing out and you find a tatty 350LC in there. 2 Quote
