New 125cc dragster

Hi there everyone , i have just picked up my 125cc italjet dragster seemed like i had to jump through hoops on insurance ???? At my age 56 am thinking of putting an akrapovic  exhaust slip on.

should I tell insurance company???

Hi, welcome.

First off they look pretty cool for a scooter and very nickable l would of thought, so your insurance company will want to cover that.

Second, if you change anything and don't notify your insurance your policy becomes invalid. If anything happens and you need to claim they won't pay out plus they put a mark against you and make it more expensive down the line.

An awful lot of changes are covered nowadays as standard, you'll have to check your policy. l declare all of mine and it's not a lot more.

That exhaust will make so little difference to the performance (if any) that I personally wouldn't bother.

 

As for telling the insurance, I wouldn't bother doing that either 

Your insurance would have been high because the 125 market is the most popular, and if a bike is the most likely to be stolen, it'll be a 125.

Spend yer money on decent security.

Thanks , great seeing all the comments so if or when I get one tell them and get better security? I have got lots so far coz yr right it’s a real head turner! But it will just finish it off , in my opinion? What do you think ?

I haven't seen these since I was a kid, this thread has made me want one! they were the bollox in the 90/00's

 

My insuance went up a few quid by adding a "non performance enhancing" exhaust so I'd at least see how much it'll cost. Personally I'd stick a pipe on absolutley everything.

I also found Lexham insurance cheaper by far on my bike, that may be worth a punt.

Yr can get them up to 35bhp for a few quid that’s a 200cc but have yr scene the 700 or 500 ???? Now we are talking ???? Fantastic right bit of kit !
