Oscar3324 Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 I own a Kawasaki ksr 50 and am looking to give it a power boost, after finding out a cylinder and piston kit from a ksr 80 will not work with the crankcase I am thinking towards doing an engine swap as the mounts look similar on other Kawasaki bikes, if anyone could give me a bit of advice on if a KX80 or KX60 engine would fit in the frame and if not those then if any other engine would fit, it would be much appreciated, thank you Quote
Hairsy Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 (edited) Best advice you’ll get. And if you want it to be a project then buy a bigger bike that’s been unloved. Edited September 4, 2024 by Hairsy 2 Quote
bud Posted September 14, 2024 Posted September 14, 2024 (edited) Most 50 and 80cc bikes share a similar engine base. It shouldn't be too difficult to bore out the cases to take the 80cc cylinder. If you really wanted. It depends on how much of a project you want. It looks like the KSR used a variety of engines. Liquid cooled, air cooled, and even a four stroke. The four stroke would be the easy option as loads of different displacement available. There are quite a few gag bikes that are 80cc. It would make more sense just to buy one if you need more power.
