I’ve recently bought a Honda XlR125RW and it has issue idling (cutting out), after adjusting the ideal screw it idles a lot better. However will still cut out randomly so I was testing the spark with a new spark plug and it has spark but it will randomly stop sparking one of the jets in the carb is not original and is smaller or bigger I’m unsure of which as didn’t do it myself I know very little about bikes could this be the issue or is it something else?  any help will be much appreciated thank you.

Hi,

Sadly it's very difficult to say what's causing your problem without seeing the bike. When a bike has changed hands a few times and everyone has had a tinker, well anything could have been done. Changing the plug is a good start though. How many miles has it done?

I would make sure you have a good connection between the spark plug cap, and wire. You can unscrew the cap and cut back 5mm till you have a good fresh wire.

Does the plug fit tightly into the cap? It should be hard to pull out. If you have the style cap which fits the screw on plug top cap. Is it tight?
