jnr Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Hi all, I have had my lexmoto hunter 50cc for a few months now and I've experienced a few problems and managed to sort them and this time I thought my ignition coil stopped working cause it's a 5 year old bike and stuff goes wrong (I barley have any bike knowledge) and a few weeks ago whilst I was out just about to get petrol my bike stalled and I thought it was my fault so I've gone into the petrol station filled it up started it and gone to ride off and it's stalled again and hasn't started since someone told me to hold my spark plug to some metal and if it sparks it's working and it didn't spark so I got a new spark plug that didn't work got a new ignition coil and that hasn't worked so I don't know if it is a issue with the spark plug or what but any help will be appreciated thank you Quote
RideWithStyles Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 The theory of that test is what you do is take the spark plug out, attach it to the plug cap again as it would be before you removed it- MAKE SURE TO PLACE OR HOLD THE SPARK PLUG THREADS TO THE ENGINE CASE or a bare metal part of the bike to ground it, try to start it and look it there is a spark while it’s trying. DO NOT HOLD OR TOUCH THE PLUG (or cap ideally) BARE HANDED OR EVEN WITH NORMAL GLOVES when you do this. Seriously don’t touch it will send arch the high current through you. now if you didnt do it that way their is a chance you have blow or damaged something, check fuses and wiring. if you have damaged the wiring you’ll need a volt meter to check. come back and let us know after this.
