GSXJosh Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I haven't ridden a motorbike for about 8 years and this little nugget came up really cheap about an hr away and I just had to buy it. She needs some love and some parts, no air box so the previous owner put a pod filter on it which the bike hates obviously. I don't feel like re jetting so I'd prefer to find a stock air box. Needs some new side covers as one is missing and the other has cracked. Rear tyre is cracked and doesn't hold air. Rear gear has been worn to sharp points. Seat is stuffed.... ...gee maybe I shouldn't of bought it haha, but I'm a sucker for older bikes. But on a bonus the gauges are very good, the controls as good, has original Suzuki plastic under the key which looks good and when I can get the motor to run it sounds healthy. But it just runs horribly. I had a play with the carb slide today and made it run abit richer which it will run and now rev however the revs hang at 3000rpm until I let the clutch out abit to drop them down. Plans: Big tidy up, new tyres, round front headlight, hate the rectangle one as it's missing the surround anyway. I work one night per week so will update the headlight for the roads I'll be taking of a night. We do get the occasional kangaroo and I'd like to see it before hitting it. Little rack on the back or some low profile panniers, I really just want a comfortable ride to work so I don't need to take my 4x4 everyday. Cheers from Oz, Josh. 5 Quote
