Greetings to everyone hope yall doing good !!

I'm facing a problem with my zxr400

I remember after a few kilometers the engine warmed up, as is normal, the indicator reached the middle, then suddenly the engine turned off and it wouldn't go forward, after a few hours I tried to start it in first gear, it went forward but it was not possible to increase the revs above 3 thousand and I had the throttle wide open, I gave up and came back after a few hours when it had cooled down and started with the first starter it worked normally ... this happened to me 3 times

I talked to some mechanics and they said it could be his coils or electronic board and someone else told me it could also be a water pump or thermostat valve .

It's hard to trust mechanics here in my city please help 🙏

Start with something really easy and simple, the spark plugs. What you describe is a classic spark plug issue.

It could be coils etc, but I would expect those to be a problem when also cold.

Then thermostat/sensor.

Agreed of start with the basics though I think there could be two problems (knock on effect hence the 3thou rev to only) or one big silly one.

a single spark or coil on a four cylinder wouldn’t stop a bike dead, run three or like shite maybe.

Then the corrosion on the board is a possibility, the only two ways is to try a different board from a definite ok one or open up the one you have and see if its furry or damaged? But id try that last…

The thermo valve and water is easy to test /do but with the age of bike you might be having to test the wiring of everything as you go looking too.
