Drew luke Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Hello just wondering if i would connect the the indicators that are 12v led replacing 12v halogen bulbs to the 2 wires connecting the old indicators, the new ones have a positive and negative wire only and the old ones are connected using 2 wires also but not sure if they are negative and positive also or different Quote

An LED is more specific of polarity, so you need the wires to be correct. Just use a multimeter to find out which original wires are positive and negative. Quote
Simon Davey Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Or, just connect them up, if they don't work, switch the wires around Quote
Drew luke Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Hello thanks for your reply I have just disconnected the rear left indicator and tried the wires both the way round and the new ones didn’t light up at all, Quote

It's possible that the original indicators were grounded (negative) by the housing. You may need to run a separate negative wire from the frame or battery for the new indicators. Quote
Drew luke Posted January 7 Author Posted January 7 Haha I’m pretty sure the rear light is grounded to the frame, as the information I have found out is the case thank you 1 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) U may need a restrictor kit, filament or halo bulbs need more juice than LEDs do so if you dont restrict them you can over load them. Edited January 7 by RideWithStyles Quote
