CapnLacey Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hi all! So, I've been riding my Keeway K-Light 125 since April 2024 (second hand) and its been nothing short of great, what isn't so great is lack of maintenance on my part is coming back to bite me. I've currently got a booking for chain replacement (with the sprockets too) and brake pads. I've racked up 5000+ miles since this bike and changed the oil and had small fixes here and there. My chain is worn but I'll need to ride it to the place to repair it, that said the gear lever has gone very stiff, I can move it but only with a lot of force from my foot which as you can imagine... isn't the easiest or enjoyable experience. Could do with some advice on if this is the lever itself as I've tightened and untightened the chain a couple of times to try and see if it makes a difference but it's not helped. This has happened in the past but the chain was too tight and managed to fix this by adding some more free play. The gear lever itself could use a clean and the section attached to the gear box was quite loose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I'm not really struggling or end up doing something stupid riding to the repair shop. Thanks, Joe Quote
RideWithStyles Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Chain slack is very important, You need to know what your manual states. Externally there isn’t much to them, so the bolts holding the mech was loose now you’ve tightened them but no difference? Did you move the clamp position from the shaft or the rod? Is it the lever mechanism itself (rod, bearing, joint). have you checked the clutch/cable disengaging properly? Quote
