Peabody Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Hi, I'm new to this forum and there's some great info with regards to the different tests. But I have some questions, 1. Is putting both feet down at the end of the emergency stop during mod 1 a minor? 2. Is it expected to put the bike into neutral after each exercise of the mod 1? 3. The avoidance exercise is my Achilles heel so any tips would be great. Thanks in advance. 1 Quote
billysugger Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) Unless you move off immediately after the emergency stop you will have to put your feet down, unless you want to fall over, as there is no foward motion to make gyroscopic forces work. You need to be (seen) using the rear brake with the manoeuvre so only your left leg will be going down when you have fully stopped to hold the bike up. Then your right leg goes down to hold the bike up, the be able to put the bike back into first gear with your left. then left leg down and put your right leg back up to the peg to cover and hold the bike with the brake. You will be doing all the manoeuvres straight away after each section, the times you will be in neutral is at the start, pushing/parking the bike, before setting off (always look around), for the start of u turn and finishing, I think also after completing the emergency stop. so basically you will only be out of neutral just before you do your visual check to then set off. keep your head up - look ahead and where you want to go, keep speed up at a high rev in a low gear (second or third at most) and hold the throttle at the speed required, do not shut the throttle while doing the chicane manoeuvre, just after than when the bike is straight and up right then do the braking. 2 Quote
