Guest Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Well the BAD news is that i can't make the bike meet this time, the GOOD news is its because i need to wait until 11am to pickup my brand new Bandit 650S and then apparently you have to break it in gently!Expect me there at the next one ready to ride... Guest Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Just got back. Ira and Borile shame you couldn't make it there will be other times. Gibbsy, well we mustn't tell Vicki but you hadn't swapped mobile numbers Sorry we missed you. As always bikers are late. You know faffing about, two needed petrol, the other needed cash and some were late anyway so the 'bury hill' contingent (5 of us!) only got to the pub at 13.00! Mel and Amanda arrived at the same time, and Gweev, mrs Gweev and friend on yellow hornet (sorry forgot name) were at another Half Moon pub a few miles down the road. Colin (justarider) came over to tell us so we were all united a bit later. After some drinks and food we rode in convoy to bury hill (bikers meeting place near Arundel) for more tea. It was really good to meet you all and ride in a big group, all sorts of bikes really relaxed! Quote

Gweev Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Hey all. I checked Google and there was def TWO Half Moon pubs on the A272, 8 miles apart. I can't blame Tomtom as that's how i found out we were at the wrong one. We stopped when we passed it at not long after 12, so didn't think it strange that no-one else was there yet. A little while later a blue Bluebird goes past. Didn't think anything of that either as many bikes had been past. But then he looks across and then brakes hard to turn around and joins us. Its Justarider. So we sit there outside the pub chatting and the girls go order some food and drinks. After a while we get to wondering why no-one else has turned up as its getting on for 1:15. My wife comments on the fact that we haven't really left Petersfield, so how can the pub say its in Midhurst. I then check with Mr Tomtom and he says we still have 8.3miles to go!!! We can't leave though as our food hasn't arrived, so Justarider offers to go ahead to see if he can find the other Half Moon. 10 mins later we get the call and lo and behold we're at the wrong damn pub. Anyways, it was good to meet a few now-familiar faces and WoW, it was good to meet you and your friends. My wife enjoyed herself. It was her first time meeting peeps from a forum and proved i hadn't secretly joined a Dogging site, although if she'd heard Colin say that about Bury Hill, she may have changed her mind lol. Ness (the girl on the Hornet) was quite pleased with herself. A few firsts ticked off that day: Riding on a motorway, riding on country lanes, riding in a group, socialising with other bikers, and of course getting stopped by the police for speeding (my fault). She also said she'd def come along if we arrange another. Wow, the chap on the VFR400 mentioned a meet at Godshill, New Forest. Can you find out the name of the pub he was talking about?Cheers,Gweev Quote

Guest Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 I was v pleased to see so many girls. Had no idea Vanessa was so new. Glad mrs Gweev enjoyed it. The ride back in the big group was good, it's nice to see a line of bikes on hilly roads. Just everytime the hill went up i went from looking over my screen to through my screen. It was my first day with new screen. Of course I will let you know as soon as Ian (on the VFR) knows which pub we're going to in the new forest! Quote
mel64 Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Hey Gweev I was poodling along the M27 after Ness saying she didn't like motorways but just after you and Mrs Gweev left us she was off like a scalded cat!!!! We had trouble catching her!.. Me and the Missus are looking forward to the next one.... Quote
