chrisgatguis Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Hi all, just painted my exhaust with some of halfords HT black paint - pretty happy with the results.Whilest doing it i noticed my center stand is mega grimey and rusty. Do you think having a center stand with said HT paint on it in the oven will reck the oven?I presume I need to bake the paint to set it hard? or just give it a go without baking it?CheersChris Quote

chrisgatguis Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 Cheers Ross - I'm going to invest in a tin tomorrow hopefully Quote
Stu Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 actually it does need baking on it says that on the tin the baking is part of the hardening process and i would not recomend you do it in the oven as the fumes are crazy Quote
Guest Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 ps go with the smooth hammerite with the current weather, give it a good degrease, as the paint won't stick to grime, and then put the bike on the centre stand with a cardboard sheet underneath, then paint, leave to dry in the sun, job done, Quote
