Sorry to hear Jackel...

Don't let it put you off though.... I dropped a bike while practising U-Turns... Unfortunately the old saying is true.

Get straight back on and try again... (Once you have the brake lever sorted!!) :D

yeah, I'm not easily fazed :) Just got a brake lever from wemoto.com so will fix that on and try again :) It's just the brake lever, but I'll watch it for leaks and anything else out of the ordinary.

I'd just filled it up so panicked a little when some petrol came out, but was told it was just the overflow. Phew :)

Yeah, a bit of petrol (Especially on a full tank) will leak out. Don't worry about that.

Glad it's not put you off though.

The problem with the U-turn is, that until it clicks and you suddenly just get it, it can be a bit of a nightmare.

You will get it. Just a matter of time.

this was always my problem when i started to learn................i remember my instructor making me do a u turn (was gonna put do one but didnt think its sounded as it was meant lol) and then stop when i got to him and say out loud "I CAN DO IT" then i had to do another one and so on! because i started off by saying i just cant do it, i cant lol!he banned me from using the word!

I hit the kurb and ended u with the bike on top of me, i sat on the road and cryed into my lid like a babie lol!

anyway getting to the point (yes i know i struggle with getting there lol) his dimond bit of advice that got me through was "ALWAYS LOOK WHERE YOU WANT THE BIKE TO GO AND NOT I REPEAT NOT AT THE KURB" sure as the day is long you follow that and the bike will follow you! also stick to first gear that worked for me!

A little cry? That's nothing, everyone gets nervous - bit off topic but my mum had to get prescribed tranquilisers for her driving test she was so nervous!! Probably illegal to do that now, but we are talking 30 odd years ago.

Keep on at it Jackal. Like Korben said it'll come, and like...riding a bike (!!), it'll be second nature to you.

I failed my first test because I put my foot down. I'd done a u-turn in the same place 15 times in a row that morning in practice, but on the test all that went through my head was my instructor literally yelling at me the day before "no no no, you won't get through your test like that you silly idiot". What wheelie-kid said is right. It's all about positive metal attitude when learning any new skill. Believe you can do it, because you've done it before. Forget about the times it didn't go to plan :D
