If someones reading this and never been to Assen my advice is to get over there and party, always the last friday of June. This year they have classic bike races on a street circuit, a parade of old Gp bikes and lots of beer Quote

Chrissb6 Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Hi all,Well my route up to Assen is going to be up towards Leeuwarden via 19 mile long Afsluitdijk dyke. This runs across the top of Holland. Awesome bit of Dutch engineering well worth a look.Big warning to all travelling over, the police will be out in force big style, don't forget this is the country that brought us the speed camera's you have been warned. So looking forward to getting home and ready. Guest Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Are we going on the Friday... wont it be into the afternoon before we get there, as we are stopping off at yours mick? Quote
DutchMick Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 You should be at mine around 9ish, I'm meeting you at a BP station on the motorway, Keith knows where. From there its 5 minutes to mine, nice brekky. Then say 2 1/2 hours to Assen. I suppose qualies might be a bit early for us, finding campsite, setting tents up etc. The qualies are crap this year anyway.Oh and Gary, I am the local knowledge ( God help us! )Last year we just got ourselves sorted out and went into the city, can't remember much after that Quote
