Anyone got any experience of these? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Armadillo-Motorcycle-Folding-Secure-Shelter/dp/B01LZ4ICC1/ref=sr_1_5?crid=1K905KFQIQ0R7&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.eakB3GIumFsPUMqer76bbG4axS5Vwg-rSDSG1ybdGvD0y7itFXrhmqmezX6Mf50ScAN208G5_PPQ_GMr6LanWCB8xKNeWhlMNvHFILEm8RW5NRK5kf1zGOJ8mcMtaTu-917nV9_Oqn53FnizyxheuTih7uN_cCBANdmn0oyP0fVoBqcasOlqb5GAH6rG_84rkdoBLmcYat-xA8PeNoJYwJV_CKDC2ue3ZZU0EDk8DnwVhn1_0GXZSEbsZZMVEkcdzSoJ3dkJTuAp-U2ghPSH5OB_7-SwvMK9659Y9SAh-t0.ErE4bl5r4KEFntrnMzloMFzjUIu39uweWuF9QEqwvdM&dib_tag=se&keywords=armadillo+motorcycle+shelter+large&nsdOptOutParam=true&qid=1732577394&sprefix=armadillo+mot%2Caps%2C67&sr=8-5 Ideally I want a shed type thing but in the interim I have a place for one of these with minimal groundwork required to make it feasible by next weekend. Have seen a couple of YouTube vids regarding putting them together but there's not much in the way of follow up/owner reviews to see how they cope after a year or two.

Also looking at these.. https://www.tigersheds.com/product/tiger-shiplap-windowless-apex-double-door/?option=7858&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-ZSg1sX4iQMVY5pQBh1dUyAkEAQYBiABEgLcAfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds I don't really need a lot of storage but I would like a bit of room to make it easier to lock up/take off locks etc... I think 8x6 would be ample. Also my garden isn't huge so don't want to take up too much of it with a sizeable structure.

Should have clarified, any gear would be panniers, top box, tent etc not jacket, helmet or anything like that... Also while that sounds like quite an ideal setup, I can't afford concrete and all that jazz just now. Would love to but just not fiscally possible atm. Have seen a few metal ones on internet but, as mentioned, price wise not feasible for next few years.

Looking to up my security for my bike and get a shed type building for back garden. I live in a four in a block so garage not an option. I want to future proof it so it needs to fit up to a Vstrom650 sized machine. (Vstrom is probably as big mass-wise as I'm going to go). Max I can fit where I'm looking at in my garden is probably 8x6ft. Is 8ft deep big enough for a bike the size of a vstrom and some kit/storage/shelving for oils, cans of stuff etc? What type of arrangements for storage do you guys have? Obviously just looking at size wise here don't need pictures etc of security devices! Looking at something like this.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Keter-Outdoor-Plastic-Garden-Storage/dp/B015J60IPQ/ref=pd_dp_d_dp_dealz_related_d_sccl_1_5/258-4592041-3425244?pd_rd_w=uoPl5&content-id=amzn1.sym.37ca5a43-aa89-4749-a094-2cd6a218d8b5&pf_rd_p=37ca5a43-aa89-4749-a094-2cd6a218d8b5&pf_rd_r=MCESCD3KEXQY3JDN2WXD&pd_rd_wg=k6F8Z&pd_rd_r=8e12ded5-8824-47f6-ad60-73331994c760&pd_rd_i=B015J60IPQ&th=1

Leaning towards a Honda CB500X atm... I'm 50 and been driving for 28 years, also have a class 2 license which I think helps with my concentration and throttle discipline when out on my 125. I don't need a 100mph pocket rocket or to be able to take on the world on a big adventurey thingy.. I want a good seating position, comfort, ability to get out of bother (enough power) should I need to and a decent tank range as I hate having to refuel (as my 125 is giving me unrealistic expectations for fuel economy I want in my next bike). 150-200 mile days, the odd 3/4 day tour or a quick hour blast to clear the cobwebs. Budget top end £4000, hoping not to have to spend that though. I realise the CB500X holds it value well and haven't seen any, even earlier models, under £3000. Lower end of the budget looking at VStrom 650 (seen a few examples under £3000, good mileage service history etc), SV650 (including Gladius) and a few others.

Interesting looking course. I'm a 1st Kyu, although not been on the mat in over a decade, but also have a PGdip in Clinical Exercise Science and a large part of that was recovery after falls, strokes, heart attack etc. I only really have a Monday evening free where I can say I'm available from 6pm onwards but am really interested in this. Motorbike wise, adding to my original post, would like to get to Scottish Motorbike Show next year, although it's in March (probably) usually around the same weekend as my Wedding Anniversary. Build more permanent structure for bike and some kit, sprays, oils, brushes, buckets etc.. New helmet and continue to build kit collection. -

Even if no breakfast, there'll be plenty places around for a bacon roll coffee etc.. .. (although will probably cost more than the nights stay! just kidding of course..).. -

Average £66 each per night? Doing damn well there.. hope breakfast included… west coast and anywhere north of Balloch/Loch Lomond take the piss quite frankly.. Although the wife and I have found some good deals through a couple of popular websites. We tend not to go big holidays, prefer 2/3 long weekends or midweek breaks a year.. if you do YouTube teapot1 has a good series of vids on the NC500 when he done it with a few others through his tour company. -
As title suggests.. What are peoples plans for next year? I'm just hoping to get a bit of weather for some miles in Jan/Feb/March in order to keep active to do DAS in March/April.. After that... Big Bike.. (yet to be determined on price, insurance, availability, need etc..) When big bike procured.. NC500 or some form of a few days trip round Scotland (it is my back yard after all).. Only issue with that is Scotland can be hellishly expensive if staying in b and bs/hotels etc.. I'm not to keen to camp these days (midges are bast*rds).. Suppose that what savings accounts are for..

Left it a bit late to do the sort of ride I wanted to before the weather sets in but had a wee 57 miler to Kincardine and back home. Warm(ish) mince and onion bridie in Kincardine from Baynes. Filled a hole.. Changed to thinner gloves at Kincardine but pulled over 2 miles out on way back to put thicker gloves back on. 8degrees C but wind chill at average 50mph took it down to 2c. If I go out tomorrow it'll be 3 t-shirts under jacket (hope I can zip it shut!), windproof trousers on and a coffee/bacon roll stop built in around the halfway mark. Looking to do DAS in March/April so not sure splashing out on heated grips is worth it for this bike... Maybe a set of handlebar muffs.. Although chilled to the bone when I got home, I felt great. 2 hours of therapy for the price of getting out the house. Funny thing... For a while after (like 2 hours) I had this feeling in my brain.. Couldn't place it until I realised it was the same feeling I used to get after a long day in the hills or being outdoors. Proper endorphines, the real feel good chemicals. Hope I can get out tomorrow....

One of these please... Although I don't have the space, money or license... Looking up to £15000 for good examples now..

I got a pair of Regatta "Waterproof" trousers form Sports Direct for £20.. I hate this saying but... Total Game Changer. Honestly act more like a wind cheater (which it seems you are after) than anything else but even with a windchill factor of -6 last February, was barely noticeable. Wasn't toasty warm but heat from the little CB125Fs engine helped keep it fairly comfortable. Nearing the end of the ride (like any other) I noticed a bit of cold along with stiffness in butt-cheeks, knees etc.. I am 50 after all! Not got an equivalent jacket yet but will look in January if it looks like the weather is going to be rideable. Not going to bother with heated grips on this bike as I intend to do DAS and move up by March/April. I did however see a pair of muffs () on Infinity Motorcycles website for about £25 which may be worth a look.. I find as long as my hands are warm, other parts are tolerable.

It's chained to something solid as part of my layers of defence.. Chain run is shortest it can be due to location.. I'm also going to add another chain for then rear, again around something solid... This is what I was after.. Would I have to ease it every few days or so or is it not worth using at all as it exposes other parts you don't necessarily think of as a beginner biker? I'm thinking the latter on this post... If I use lever lock do I spray this on exposed parts to provide environmental protection for them? I like to be right so would probably provide at least a cheat sheet or actually answer it for them..

To secure my wee CB125F I have a decent Oxford chain and Boss alarm lock, keep it under a cover so in the dark its not so visible from the road.. Recently bought a further disc lock and a lever lock. Don't want to give too much away about my security but am adding to it weekly. Whole point is to make it too time consuming for the *****. My main query here is will the lever lock need "easing" every now and then over winter so as not to seize up the disc? Hoping to get out now and then anyway (unless we have a big snowy bast*rd January/Feb/March of course!)

Not today but yesterday... To: Tightened, cleaned and lubed chain.. With: Little 2 hour plusser.., first ride in 3 weeks or so. weather been utter crap. Highly therapeutic wee ride. You don't realise how much you miss it till you're back out. Even though my little 125 is brilliant, I still need more power. DAS by March.

Want to use Infinity because I have vouchers for them. Nearest store is glasgow, which is a bit of a trek tbh. Also one of my nearest strores has actually closed/ceased trading in last week.. (Saltire moyorcycles in Edinburgh).. that's a bit shit as they were a royal enfield dealer and I was considering an RE as first big bike. I'll probably have to go to another shop, get sizes etc and then order from Infinity .
-
My jacket has a pocket for one but it didn't come with one. I am also considering an insert type but as stated in OP infinity haven't replied to my query.

I got Infinity motorcycle shop vouchers for my birthday and am looking at getting a back protector with them. Problem is that for type I'm after (full back with waistband and shoulder straps) the size guide is crap. I don't know what points on the back the measurements refer to. I've emailed infinity but no reply from 2 weeks ago. What do people wear/use and what sort of sizings are they. For reference I'm 5'11", ...

Didn't get out at all this weekend but will update on these when I fo. Bloody weather.
-
Got them yesterday, tried them on they felt OK. Only thing I would say before testing them tomorrow is they feel like you've got a load in your shorts! Hopefully function will nullify this...

Heard they're good but I don't like the look of them. Bit fussy maybe but if I get a bike I'm gonna do touring miles on then looks won't matter...
