  1. Yep a group of Mamils can be a total PITA, I'm not going to argue its a fact. I don't agree with the way many ride I just ride with them. I said cross the white line as a mental visual aid, as a rule you need to do so to pass a car, if the lane was 20 feet wide crossing the white line would be just stupid as long as the person you're overtaking is holding a steady line not wandering all over the place like a scared rabbit lol.
  2. I wouldn't know I've never seen a porn film Ok I may have, just once (ish)
  3. Never been stopped either but a few mates have. I did 55 down a welsh road between Dynas Mawdey and Coris but it was a national limit lol.
  4. I'm a peloton I can do mid 30s in a sprint, perhaps I should organize it
  5. Lmao that's classic!! No I haven't, Try as I may its not easy. I need a good tail wind or a bit if a hill to hit over 30 on leg power. I can hit 27 on the flat for a hundred meters or so but I'm shagged then lol
  6. I'm local but go by tramp carrier (train and bus) to avoid parking fees. I hope stu isn't driving the bus lol
  7. I'd have no problem doing that if it helps. Ill look into it this week. I find huggers a bit short so these tubes could be a good idea??
  8. My point exactly. 2 push bikes side by side is legal, 3 or more isn't. 2 bikes are smaller than a small car. However I only do it on certain roads, and a national limit road isn't one if them that's a fact! You know how you ride a motorbike like all car drivers are on drugs? You have to do the same on a push bike and then some.
  9. Yeah but after 120 miles and a face full of cake most of us just want to talk and ride lol. It's a leisure ride not a race the traditional Sunday morning club run. You can do double thru and off 4 abreast tho that's very efficient. Edit to say double thru and off I only do on track/velo.
  10. Well I'm not a busest, some of my best friends drive busses.
  11. Or a hollowed out bus driver? Seriously tho, you can buy the materials to make one for £2. Neoprene comes on rolls and is about £10 a square meter. Cable ties are 1p each and a eyelet tool is a fiver. I think I'm going to have to do a batch huh? Is that allowed on here if I do it profit free?
  12. So it's you is it I know it's a small percentage of bus drivers but out of my many near 'being crushed to death' experiences, the large majority of them are from busses. The drivers even look in your eyes and still pull out of a junction into your path. OK SMIDSY is bad enough, but I can't forgive 'I saw you but don't give a shit'. Sure we all make the mistake of generalizing but no offense intended, I'm sure you're not one of the grumpy old f**kers that I have almost been squashed by lmao. Can I have a go at lorry drivers now please lane changing in front of you making you slam on at the last moment! Lorries and motor ways grrrrrrr. I await a lorry drivers reply hahahaha.
  13. I worry its a little sheet of neoprene for £30!! Talk about paying for a brand. R&G aren't linked to apple are they?
  14. Btw I ride Sunday rides with a few clubs from time to time and I must say a lot of cyclists are bloody idiots! I'm a big cyclist, 2-300 miles a week is common, but above all I'm a person and use my discretion when in public. Cyclists are legally allowed to ride two abreast and a car or bike overtaking should by law cross the white line the same as you would to over take a car, (some cars barely bother moving over!!), but on a fast road, busy road, narrow road, road with parked cars etc I always make the call 'single out'. So many in the peleton don't bother tho and will even ride 3 and 4 abreast. Where we are in a country lane and there is only room for a single track a peleton can hold a car at 20-25mph for 2 miles and they don't have the courtesy to single out. OK by law a peleton doesn't have to give way, but it's polite IMHO! So yes, cyclists and motor bikes are some times just as bad.
  15. Yeah you're right of cause, but I have had a lot of bad experiences with them and I like to generalize as much as the next man lol.
  16. Bus drivers can go to hell! The most dangerous, inconsiderate, bully boy arse holes to sit behind a wheel! The times I have almost been killed by them on my push bike is unreal, they just don't care. Only upside is dragging one around the isle on a full bus makes you feel a LOT better after he causes a SMIDSY and drives off only to be caught at the next red light lol.
  17. Agreed quick fit is full of idiots in the main, they use hundreds of companies tho that was just an example. And if you like the way it handles with those sizes that's it! There is no right and wrong it depends on riding style, application, terrain all sorts.
  18. Yeah it boils my piss when they steal cables from the street and that. My dads roof was copper sheet untill June, 70 years it never leaked and would have lasted another 70, but some £¥#T decided they needed £50 for drugs! It would have been worth it if they had fallen off the roof onto the railings!!! Saw his face as he ran away and if I see it again ill put him on them!
  19. Camskill and black circles have a free delivery as fitting service, they use places like quick fit but you pay black circles or camskill direct. I have used them before and used that service. Changing the width of the rubber on a wheel caused it to be stretched or bulge, this can be desirable but only if its planned! On a bike it's even more complex tho.
  20. With post it's not so bad I guess. Tbf the way prices are shooting up for copper as well as inflation I bet it's gone up since I last had them wind a motor a couple of years ago. And if its a good job then worth it as its not something you do often.
  21. £80 to rewind a motor? That's steep! Then again we have a rewinds shop at work so I DIY, but autolec only charge about £35 to rewind stator and rotor on an alternator, that's including strip and rebuild, if you take the stator out its less work for them.
  22. Only problem I see there is as a new rider looking into the empty lane for my life saver effects the trajectory of the bike, in a very positive manor for exiting a roundabout too! It helps lay the bike down and get the wheels perfectly set up for the switch in direction as I exit, it feels very natural and smooth this way and kinda dictates timing for when I look, I was told my life savers where confident and well timed by my examiner so perhaps you could try something like that? A LS at the wrong time or a double LS may upset the bike and ballance and that would worry me. I'm sure a more experienced rider would disagree but that's what works for my riding HTH
  23. I always warn people, I have been warned and greatfull it's only fair return the favour! It's not exactly hard work anyway. Do unto others as you would be done!
  24. So sooty and sweep as left and right with sue tickling your fancy wouldn't be any good? Hahaha I like to have a few pairs so I can wash and wear, they get kinda grubby real quick! I have 3 neck tubes too, they get a bit manky after a few days.
