Hello just im thinking on doing a 105 mile ride from Liverpool to Loughborough using the back roads instead of the motorway I could happily do it on my 450cc but I fancied doing it on my cg 125 just for abit of fun its done about 30k miles and im wondering if you think it will make it and back a day or so later I don't want to ride my big bike its part of a challenge any idea if anyone thinks it will do okay its the 1990 model cheers

Sorry if I wrote that out abit iffy he told me that he had booked my mod 1 for Thursday aka today I turned up to the training centre to pick up the 500 for the time he stated and place but when I arrived he wasent there I phoned and he had made some bull story about how I was ment to be at the test centre for 6.45 and told me my test was booked for 8.15 its was aload of rubbish I phoned the test centre and I weren't even booked in basicaly absolutely devestated about it to be honest wasted money on the lessons he was taking us to stupid places like his house some random place that sold VW parts called VW scene ? To see how his real axl on his beetle was coming along im gonna make some serious complaints about these guys viper motorcycle training school Southport merseyside/sefton borough

Hello guys reason im posting is I was ment to take my module 1 today 25.10.12 I asked my instructor what time my module 1 would be Thursday his reply was early he shot off on his cbr6 like a bat outta hell so contemplating i realised that wasent a good enough answer i phoned him and asked what time to be at birkdale trading estate the training centre where we usually meet he said 7.45 and from there ride to st Helens test centre which is about 40 minutes away so i agreed and put down the phone i got up early and travelled up to birkdale to pick up the bike and kit etc i was there from 7:30 until 8 and still no avail. i phoned him as usual he said where are you i said at the training centre he said "i thought you'd do that i said this to me wife and she said he will forget" i was confused because i clearly wrote it down and planned everything anyways he said i was an hour late and i owe him the test fee and he had a mod1 Monday i weren't having it so i phoned st Helens test centre and low and behold i hadent even been booked in i am so angry I've payed alot of money out and i have to go elsewhere now because im being treated unfairly. anyone have any numbers to which i can contact he isn't getting away with it cheers.

Cheers guys I was just intrested in them maybe learn stuff about them they must be a bit tricky to fit I assume I just use k an n myself they look pretty old school thanks alot guys much apreciated

Hello guys this may seem like a newbish question I've been reading BSH for a while and recently watching cafe racer on sky and I've noticed they use a airfilter im unfamiliar with I no what the stock filters look like on most bikes and the mesh type k and n but what the stainless steel ones that look like the end of a exsaust with the mesh inside they look hollow any links or anything would be apreciated Usualy found on the vintage bikes.

Okay had it running for a bit that day 30 minutes and haven't road it and where back to square one my friends a mechanic and even hes baffled by it he is pretty sure its electrical hes cleaned the carbs and there spotless now and there's no rubbish getting through now due to the inline fuel filter i went round again today with a different coil pack (used but working) and tried that and again it cut out within the five minutes we checked the new ignition switch that had been put on before we bought it nothing out of the ordinary there checked all the wiring to see if anything was out of place everything seems fine it starts and runs really decent until it gets to a warm tempature and then it cuts out as if someone has hit the emergency switch so we checked that and cleaned all connections and same again just dies i don't no mass amounts about bikes where he knows quite a bit when we checked the original coil packs they should of read 23-25 and one side read like 10 and the other 33 i spoke to a fella who owns a motorbike shop near mine he mainly fix's Suzuki he said that it sounds like either the original bikes coil pack or the cdi unit he was pretty sure of it but when a cdi unit is faulty would it even work at all ? any help would be amazing also a post up the top i am based in Liverpool.

Hey guys thanks for the advice I took one of my mates to see the bike so forget it being elctrical the carbs needed cleaning and that was all sober got it for £180 as is and it needed front break pads and a petrol filter it cost me 20 quid with the parts came with log book lee Haynes Manuel etc made up haha runs fantastic thanks for the advice guys

Cheers guys how would I check the coil pack ? Its been sat outdoors for a while like but with a cover he has good set of sparks which are only 6-9 months old could it be that at all the carb issues sounds far fetched to me aswell the coil pack is proberly the same age as the bike 1981 so its easy to assume its that is there a easy way of testing the pack out ? Hey guys got a problem there i have a opportunity to buy a 1981 Suzuki gs 450 s when I went for my visit i tried out the bike and it was running great up and down the road but then next thing it cuts out and backfires. I tried to start it up but it wouldn't run so we left it to cool down for bit then she started again. The problem is when it gets warm it then cuts out im not an expert on bikes but i like the bike its condition in general is pretty dam good its just that problem there is a few things ive guessed it could be starter coil pack,letting in rich juice or possibly the floats or needles into the carb being bent or have some debris on them or possibly the sparkies but they are only 6 months old but then again its been sat outdoors for a while any ideas would be good. its a twin and has normal air box no k,ns it starts great runs great just cuts out say 5 mins of riding or just ticking over simple fix or serious? cheers dave.
